An accomplished researcher in elementary mathematics education with a passion for bridging research and practice, Dr. Judith Fraivillig has devoted her decades of research to aligning how math is taught to promote children’s understanding of foundational mathematical concepts. She has conceptualized and put into practice immersive programs for pre-service STEM teachers based entirely within an elementary school. For this on-going effort she has been invited to the White House and featured on CNN Money and other media outlets. Dr. Fraivillig is committed to continuing her numerous collaborations with in-service teachers and school district leaders in the region and has also led initiatives to create rich and engaging online teacher certification programs. She holds degrees from Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania and is a former middle school science teacher.
